Youth Organization for Health and Development Initiatives (YOHaD) signs memorandum of understanding with Family Health International
 (FHI 360) for NiDARplus project in River State, Nigeria

Youth Organization for Health and Development Initiatives (YOHaD) signed a sub-agreement with Family Health International (FHI 360) for the NIDAR Plus project, Award No W0563.
The objectives of this Shell funded project are to:

  • Increase access to HIV/AIDS and Integrated Health Services through prevention messages and demand creation activities in Obio, Aminigboko, Umuebule, and Edagberi in Rivers State by 31 July, 2012.
  • Provide health messages and information through mobilization activities that will influence positive behaviour change among target audience in four communities in Rivers State by 31 July, 2012.

 

YOHaD’s key roles in the project are:

  • Commit human and other resources needed to carry out activities.

  • Work with Peer Educators to mobilize and sensitize communities on HIV prevention and NIDAR Plus project.

  • Mobilize individuals and communities to access quality comprehensive integrated health services (ART, ANC, PMTCT, TB, FP, ARH, and HCT) at facilities.

  • Make available as and when needed skilled and relevant personnel for trainings on different components of the project.

  • Provide adequate space and information for the implementation of project.

  • Establish effective linkages and referral to testing and counseling and of HIV positive persons to comprehensive treatment Sites for onward management and community based program for community support.

  • Reinforce knowledge and positive behaviour through Peer Educators, role models and community outreach activities among target group within the selected communities.
